Residents living in Ho Man Tin can enjoy more convenient and comfortable connections
between Ho Man Tin Estate and Oi Man Estate with today’s opening (17 December 2015) of
new pedestrian link facilities, which include a footbridge and a set of lifts. These are the first
community facilities opened under the MTR Kwun Tong Line Extension (KTE) project, which
provide direct covered access to the future MTR Ho Man Tin Station.
Alongside its construction of the 2.6-km KTE railway extension and two new stations at Ho
Man Tin and Whampoa, the MTR Corporation was entrusted by the Government to carry out a
range of Essential Public Infrastructure Works. These facilities include a pedestrian link system
connecting Ho Man Tin Station with Oi Man Estate and Ho Man Tin Estate; a footbridge across
Chatham Road North connecting Ho Man Tin Station to Wuhu Street; and a public transport
facility at Chung Hau Street near Ho Man Tin Station.
The Kwun Tong Line Extension is expected to open for passenger service in the 3rd or 4th
quarter of 2016. At present, approximately 90% of the overall works have been completed.
